The Bowie Arizona Flagpole

Bowie Arizona is home to Ft Bowie (a 19th-century outpost of the United States Army) and the birthplace of John“Raven”Rambo. As Flags for The Flagless made their way to the historic site, they noticed a decently sized flagpole with no flag being displayed.
Naturally, the Flags for the Flagless Team jumped into action and flew a brand-new American Flag on their noticeably barren flagpole.

Flags for Flagless Makes Donation for TEP Control Center

Humble Beginnings in Downtown Tucson

Because of the words of the “Star-Spangled Banner” were inspired by Francis Scott Key’s sight of the American Flag flying over Fort McHenry, Maryland, the anthem and the flag are interlocked in an inseparable patriotic bond. Several years ago, Charles Foley, now retired but then a Tucson police officer, noticed a lot of empty flagpoles while he was on patrol.

Flags for the Flagless Reignites Patriotism at Bloomfield High School in New Mexico

The Flags for the Flagless team was recently called into action by Retired Major and current ROTC Teacher – William Kern, at Bloomfield High School located in Bloomfield, New Mexico.
Lead by Charles Foley, the team quickly made their way to New Mexico to meet with Retired Major William Kern, who expressed his concern with the worn, faded and missing American Flags located throughout the campus. Without any delay, Charles Foley and the Flags for the Flagless team were able to reignite patriotism at Bloomfield High School once again.

The American flag waves in reverence for many—for the immigrants who came and built a nation with hard work and ingenuity and for all who continue to defend and serve our nation.
As a Tucson Police officer, Charles Foley noticed 32 poles without a flag in one small downtown area. Now, he has made it his primary mission to assure that our nations national colors are available to every site that carries an empty flag pole.

New Flagpole at Tucson Park Honors Willie Blake Jr.

The flagpole honors Blake, who has devoted decades of his retirement to reducing crime and promoting economic opportunities in the Western Hills neighborhood in Tucson.

Two Flags raised at Handmaker Assisted Living Center
Two flags were raised at Handmaker Assisted Living at the entrance to the Center.
Handmaker Assisted Living never had an American flag flying. Flags for the Flagless roped the poles, bought the pulleys and purchased one new American flag and one new Arizona flag. We want to thanks TPD Honor Guard for being a part of this historic event.

American Flag Left at Shooting Memorial Will Fly Over Giffords’ Home
Flags for the Flagless will donate flag to former congresswoman and her husband, Mark Kelly
TUCSON – An American flag that was among hundreds left at memorials for victims of the 2011 Tucson shooting will fly over the home of former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly.
The flag will be presented Friday to Giffords and Kelly by Flags for the Flagless, a local organization started by two Tucson police officers that is dedicated to reviving flag poles that have been abandoned throughout the community.

First responders remember 9/11

TUCSON – 9/11 is considered by many to be the ‘Kennedy Moment’ of the 21st century. Everyone who lived through that day remembers where they were and what they were doing when they learned the Twin Towers had been attacked. This is especially true for two local police officers.
“It took a little bit to register, I didn’t understand what was happening,” said Tucson police officer Charley Foley. “Then I think they said ‘terrorist attack, The country is under terrorist attack,’ I just couldn’t believe it.”
Sept. 11, 2001 was Foley’s first day on the force.

Tucson ‘Flags for Flagless’ Initiative Traveling to NYC for 9/11 Anniversary

TUCSON – Later this week, Americans will remember the morning of September 11th, 2001. It’s been 14 years since the Twin Towers fell in New York City. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day.
For today’s school children, it’s something they will only read and watch videos about.
A Tucson police officer is on a journey east, to bring a piece of history and American symbolism back to a Brooklyn elementary school.
Growing up, the American flag had a special meaning to Tucson Police Officer Charley Foley.
